A/C idler pulley

how the hell do you get that thing off? its held on by a star shaped bolt. i can't get the damn thing to move at all and i've soaked it with PBlaster. every time i get my wrench in there and apply torque it slips out and i don't want to strip the damn thing.

Re: A/C idler pulley

Are you using a hex wrench? Try using a small hammer to tap the wrench in so you get a decent grip.

Re: A/C idler pulley

yea i finally got it off using a different T-50 bit

on a side note, that particular pulley is nearly impossible to find, 3 different parts stores and a GM dealer all had the wrong part, i had to go to a second dealer who finally pulled out the right pulley.
