build-up on my ls2

Eagle crank
Eagle rods
JE pistons
Total Seal rings
Clevite bearings

For all the block machine work and assembly for a solid short block they want $3800-4000. How's that sound for price? All forged. I am dissembling the motor to the block and then taking it there.

Are you going bigger cuin.?
Are you getting ready for fi/NO2?

You can make tons of power with a stock shortblock.

That is a little on the high side. There is about $1800 worth of parts there. A lot of ls1 specific vendors will include a new block for that price. Texas Speed on this board for example, has complete short blocks on the shelf and ready to go for that price with no core cost.

Cool in that case I was going to recomend what Goeff said, you can get a complete assembled shortblock and go from there.

I have the ultimate idea, build it myself ....only thing is, How hard is it to do it? I am very mechanically inclined, but on a motor that i want to see some rpms and take abuse, i know things have to be set up RIGHT! I've actually read, "How to build LS1/LS6 motors" or something like that, it didn't look too bad. I'd rebuild my pick-up motor to stock specs without flinching, but i don't want miss something and send pieces through my block and have to start from square one again on my car.
