BTW: Track and Dyno

I wrote in my sig, but didn't post. So here it is: I finally got to the dyno and the track. Of course my very first run didn't go all that well, but progressed as time went on and learned to launch(ah about a week, no practice though) My 2000 Trans Am totally stock "down to the dirty paper air filter" put down 296.3 rwhp and 316.0 rwtq, and the car was ready to go more but i had to stop due to a rear tire needing air. As for the 1/4 mile, I wanted low 13's and was able to pull them. It took a few runs, but a 13.21 finally came out of it. So this impressed me, especially since the car is stock, also this is at 22995 miles. So what do ya'll think? any other specific times check the sig for details and yes i have the time slip!

It was cold out too. but it had its advantage and disadvantage. The advantage was that it kept the car cool, and allowed for cold air to flow into the engine. but the disadvantage was tire spin. I am running the stock Goodyear GSC's and the cold made them hard and easily spun, even with a quick warm up.

Very impressive numbers.. with a better 60' time your looking at being only a mod away at 12's... or maybe 12's stock Get you some nitto's and go back on another cold night! For a car that dyno'd under 300rwhp, that is excellent! goes to show dyno's don't mean everything.. conditions rule all! You have a strong car.. Have fun!

Dyno #'s don't mean as much I thought they once did. My car runs the times in the sig. It weighs I figure with me around 3650 lbs still running stock rims/ BFG DR's in rear. My dyno #'s were 359 rwhp/450 rwtq. I figured I was making around 390+ rwhp until I dynoed the car.

That is a strong running car you have there. Very impressive.

Well, I figure that if i could have brought down the 60' to 1.8-1.9 i would have run a 12.9 easy, but this was only my second time at the track and was launching like grandma. As for mods, a GMMG cat-back is on its way as we speak. And an SLP air lid with a Holley Powershot filter is the next. This will allow the car to pull roughly a 12.8 on stock tires. Well, I have confidence I can drive the car to pull that.

Wow .. better time than me. I've been to the track twice. My best run so far was Tuesday night. 13.3 @ 104 MPH with a 2.0 60' time.

Mods in the sig.

Nice times, a sub 2.0 60' will definitely get you into the 12s.
