Post Brakes groaning

My Z has almost 2000 miles on it now and I love it. The only complaint is the brakes. It is an A4 and when I put it into gear from park the brakes groan fairly loud. Also when I let off of the brakes from a stop they make this noise as the car first starts to roll but not as loud. It is worst when the car hasn't been driven in a while (like first thing in the morning). Is this normal? It seems like a pretty annoying noise for a brand new car to make.

now by a groan is it making a metal on metal scratching noise or is it something else. If its metal on metal you may need new pads.

I don't think I should need new pads at 2000 miles, I haven't been hard on them or anything. It has made the noise since I drove it off the lot. I thought it was just a noise that they made while breaking in but it seems like that should be done now.
