brake squealing after 2700 mi
brake squealing after 2700 mi
I currently have around 2700 miles, and my front brakes are squealing in low speeds, if it is covered by my warranty, should I take my car over to the dealer to have it checked? Do I need brake pads already? Any help is appreciated.
There are 2 things you don't mess with on cars. Those items are brakes and tires. If you feel the need to get them looked at then go 4 it. It's still under warranty.
At or around that time I had mine looked at and the rotors were warped. This is easily done on these cars. So the dealer turned them. Big mistake. It only took about the same time to do the same thing again. So I just invested in some aftermarket rotors. They weren't much more than the GM ones.

You've probably warped one or both of your rotors. GM should cover it under warranty. I managed to warp the rotors on my '01 Z28 three different times within the first 20,000 miles, and all I had to do was take it my Chevy dealership and they turned them. It seems sort of stupid to me that Chevy would rather have people coming back continually for brake service, when they could just put -quality- rotors on the cars and eliminate the problem, but that's typical GM.
Anyway, yes, it's covered under warranty.
