Boring questions....

O.k....the block is from a 2000 LS1. Their are some gouges in the cylinder walls that need to be cleaned up and a hone just wont do it. How much can you bore the 2000 LS1 block and still be safe with the sleeve? I need some hard fact, not hearsay, on this subject. All I can seem to find is 50/50 hearsay, so if anyone has done it or KNOWS FOR FACT, what can be done, your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Boring questions....

I was under the impression that you can't bore the LS1 block.

Re: Boring questions....

Personally if it were mine and it wouldn't clean up in .010" I'd find another block.

Re: Boring questions....

I heard .010 is the max bore also. What's the normal price a machine shop will charge to bore out the sleeves?
