bolt on ls1 runs low 11

I didnt see it and wanted to run it past you guys... can an ls1 with ONLY bolt ons run an 11.1, dont know trap speed, in the quarter? My friend says he saw it but that sounds a little fast to me but I dont have an ls1 so what do I know Some other guy supposedly ran a 11.7 at 112, must have been one hell of a launch, with a lid, catback, headers, offroad y, and a cutout does that sound realistic at all?

i would come to guess that those mods would put the ls1 in the mid to low 12's. but i have no idea since my car is all stock and i haven't played with it yet, and found out it's likes and dislikes. I know a guy out here that works at a shop called south florida perfromance, with a 00 ws6, and he's running consistant mid 11's with mild work to the engine, and he told me he just started. i beleive he has head work/ cam package, induction and exhaust work

Nope can be done with bolt ones.. no cam, no heads, no rockers, no spray, and no blower..

Quite a few guys have done it.

Almost always A4's with large stalls slicks, headers, lid, shiftkit, sometimes and usually gears, full exhaust.. etc etc..

in the grand scale of things not many people have done it sure.. but it happens more than you think. Ive never seen 11.1 but 11.4-11.3's ive seen personally

Yeah that sounds much more realistic, but this 11.10 car was boltons only which is bs if you ask me but the guy that ran the 11.7 was a different guy too with the mods listed above.

i think anything is possible if u could get these dayum things to stick, i finished installing 3.73's outback and now this thing is a beast outta the hole. but i still suffer a big loss of traction, even though i put firestone firehawks outback, and they do a very good job, i would recommend these tires to anyone. Im saving up see if i buy some nitto drag radials, and see what i churn out @ the track one of these days.

Yep, as Dave said, it can and has been done.

I believe those guys are trapping around 116-119, so they're not getting those ETs with power (even though they're making plenty), they're doing it by cutting insane 60's.

I believe Rageman still has the fastest bolt-on car, it's an M6 and he's only got an 11.5X but at 121.XX .

The record for a bolt on LS1 is 11.2. There are a couple guys here in Texas getting close to breaking this record. One person hit 11.3 a couple weeks ago, he goes by beenfetchedlately on LS1.com.

well damn 116-119??? Not insane power? thats what vipers trap lol. **** me for buying an lt1, unfortunately I couldnt afford an ls1. Lt1's have yet to break into 11's with boltons I believe but they're close. Whats a normal bolt on ls1 run like something someone would enjoy driving onthe street daily?

There is a guy on www.mfba.org tha says he has the fastest bolt on LS1 in the country. His time was 11.549 @ 117.82 on a 1.6 60'. That is movin. He has an 01 Z. Infact that is his screen name on MFBA. It is an M6. From what I hear he can drive the wheels off the car!

01 Z was the fastest documented bolt on. It's down to 11.27 now

But mid 11s is doable ... it's combination of driver, serious weight reduction, knowing how to set up and tune up your suspension plus run on a well prepped track in a negative D/A.

I did the time in the sig with minor weight reduction - spare, back seats, front sway bar and washer bottle - in a positve 1400 D/A. I fully expected to hit the 11s this winter, until I blew out the rings. Alas, I took the opportunity to do heads and cam while the car was down.

He has the quickest (not fastest) bolt-on M6.

01-Z ----------- 11.549 @ 117.82 (1.60), 01 Camaro Z28 M6, Mcleod, 4.30, 3090, 09/02

RAGEman -------- 11.568 @ 121.13 (1.71), 01 Camaro Z28 M6, stock, 3.42, 3200, 03/02

01 Z has the quickest e.t. for a bolt on M6, rageman has the fastest trap for a bolt on m6. let us speak no more of this.
