Big problem - car redlines at idle.

I let a girl drive my old Camaro (you all would have too if you saw her). As soon as she started the car it was redlining. She was scared, and I had to reach over and kill the car. She swore that she hadnt touched the gas pedal. I never really believed her, but maybe she was telling the truth. That was the one and only time I have heard one of my cars bounce off the rev limiter like that. What a horrible sound.

I seem to remember there being a TSB about a bad gauge cluster on 99's. I could be wrong, but you might check it out. I would search for you, but I am at work....
