BG Ram Air vs. Stealth Air Box

Does anybody have testimonies for either system? Does anybody use both systems? I'm just curious.

stealth gives more horse power than the regular lids do... from what i've seen (dyno charts and etc) if you're gonna get a stealth airbox, also get a ftra system... they should compliment eachother nicely

Brian Greene system pulls in air from the hood. Great System. I have seen it close up. Very good mod.

Wink

I have the Stealth airbox assembly & I noticed an improvement over the MTI carbon fiber lid I used to have. I've never tried the BG ram air though so can't compare. I will say I am very impressed with the Stealth airbox. It's very well made & you don't feel like it's going to crack like with the MTI. They did a really good job, but for the price they should!

FTRA = FAST TOYS RAM AIR

its a cold air induction on the bottom of your car... it's pretty dope. it gives you noticeable gains too... worth the money if you ask me. it's the same thing as the super sucker, the whisper and SLP one... they're all the same thing... but i've seen a lot of ppl pulling good numbers w/ the FTRA... and the Stealth ... those would be my two combo's if i were you. that... or the
K&N FIPK: Fuel Injection Performance Kit II the FIPK is bad ***... u use it instead of a lid.

I also use the Stealth airbox assembly. It gave a dyno hp gain of 16 hp over a Direct Flo lid, FTRA and a holley filter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't you get the same results from the FRA mod and a lid as compared to the Stealth airbox assembly? It costs half as much.

if price isn't a factor w/ you, you get the stealth airbox + ftra.... if you cant afford everything you want, and you're kinda tight w/ money for mods, then yeah... i guess you could get a lid + ftra and it would give you the same results probably as the stealth w/o ftra... possibly? lol

Oh I'm not talking FTRA + Stealth Box & Stealth Lid, I'm referring to FRA + Lid compared to just Stealth Box & Stealth Lid.

hmmm... the stealth works on free ram air as well, but the case for it is a lot bigger, so more air can fit in... even w/ a lid and free ram air, it wouldn't be AS STRONG (but still stronger than it would be w/o the free ram air) because the lid isn't as big as the stealth lid.... i dunno, the stealth was designed to pull more air than a regular lid...

When you compare the size of the corvette filter to a stock Fbody filter you can see how much larger the vette filter is. The entire surface area is avaliable to draw air with the Stealth setup. While installing mine I almost left the FTRA in but I couldn't see any benefit by covering the air filter with the flanges on the FTRA.
From comparing the opening on my WS6 hood to the open frontal area of the Stealth airbox it looks as tho my hood is now at least partially function. I know from personal experience the Stealth gave me 16 more hp and 21 pds of torque. It has been the best power producing mod for me.

I'm convinced that the stealth box works, but what if you combine it with the BG system?

Theoretically, it seems as though the combo would be awesome.

I don't see anyway to "seal" the BG mod to the airbox. Any air entering the filter area would be coming at a 45 degree angle to the main flow of air draw. Would seem to make an area of turbulance at the point of entry.

hmm.... t/a's and ws6's have a better ram air setup than the camaro... the camaro's is just for looks though. for me, i'd have to go w/ the stealth and the ftra for my camaro, unless i can find another way to get more air from an intake.

that setup looks good.... the stealth and the bg system... i wouldn't know how effective it would be though, because of what warbird51 brought up
