Best Street Legal tires?

What would be a good street legal tire to buy? I thought about firestone firehawks, but wanted to broaden my options. I need good gripping tire, but with decent tread wear. 245/50ZR16. Thanks.

I've looked around for a while too. Was seriously considering the firehawks but then I read many bad reviews about them. The good definatly weigh out the bad, but for that much money I don't want to chance it.

I've decided to go with some Goodyear Eagle F1s, same size as you. My car is a daily driver and will see trips to the track every other week or so. I figured these would do just fine.

I highly recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE730's. They perform great in just about every respect. A good place to check out tire reviews online is www.tirerack.com.

If it's less than a daily driver or never sees rain, Nitto's are the way to go (not the greatest when wet), but if you drive in the rain, Potenza's are nice as are the Firehawks.

I second that They say nitto's will usually last about 15,000 miles, although most people only get 12,000 miles out of them at the most, and BFG's are said to usually last 3,000 miles, and i'm not sure how much they actually last cause I don't know many people with them.

The treadwear on a Nitto Drag is 100
The treadwear on a BFG Drag is 0

You do the math

best street tire for traction in a straight line m/t et streets I had nitto drags and have to say they suck to get traction you have to really warm them up and when they are cold watch out no traction! I just bought new nitto nt555's and they are great i suggest these to anyone.

I love my Nittos. No complaints here about that choice!

I got about 10,000 miles out of a set of Nitto DR's. That was with daily driver and track duty. Night and day from regular street tires. Cut a 1.70 60ft. with them NA.

Ok, the Nitto 555R's are the Drag Radials, and the Nitto 555's are the regular radials! I know nothing about the regular radial Nitto's, but i'm sure there's better radials out there than the Nitto's!
