Post Best shock tower brace?

In everyone's opinion, what would be the best shock tower brace out there? Seems like it is a must do mod! Install U has the BMR. Any before and after stories?

I think for the money it's hard to beat the BMR brace, I wish all mod installs were as easy to install as this. Good luck.

I know longer have my SS but I had a SLP brace on it, I've installed BMR braces on a few of my friends SS's and there just as good as the SLP's (the BMR has a better price).

I've heard some guys say the brace will make a big difference but I found little to know difference, if you had a lot of miles on your car you might see the difference but being yours is a 01 I doubt you'll really see the difference. In the long run it's a good move to install one anyways.

Whoa Al never thought I'd see you around again. How's the Prolwer?! Anyways I had the Hotchkis on my SS & have the BMR chrome-moly on my WS6. Both do the job & help in turns. BMR is the cheaper way to go.

I love my Prowler but I have to say I miss the LS1 guys.

z28rktec, I know your asking about the STB but I'd also like say look into get the SLP bolt on sub frame connectors. I know there's a lot of guys who say get the weld on kind but you will be very happy with the SLP bolt on's.

you have some sweet looking cars sunset! Well done!
I really wish the Hotchkis wasn't twice the price of the BMR, it gets some points in the looks dept. As far as SFC go, well, I start grad school in the fall which will be cutting back on the mod fund. I was looking for one last thing, and at under $100 the STB looks like a good option. I haven't taken it to the strip, but I do enjoy stop lights and back country roads! haha...sounds like a personals add.

I just ordered my SFCs and STB from www.spectaclesolutions.com

The guys here at West TN F-Body swear by his products. And you can't beat the price.

Gotta chime in here. Check out the Edelbrock unit. Summit has it for relatively short money. I don't know about the others, but the Edelbrock piece connects the shock towers to the firewall. A shock tower brace does nothing unless it triangulates the engine bay. Otherwise the force, and movement, from one shock tower is just transferred over to the other shock tower, which moves too. The brace needs something to, well, brace against. That's where the firewall comes into play; it can't move like the other shock tower can. The Edelborck brace is more work to install, but like anything else it's a one-time project, and it mounts in such a way that it's easy to take off and put back on.

Thumbs down

Actually that's not true, the 3 point STB tends to crack windshields. I would never put it on my car.

Got my BMR stb in today and it is SWEET! I love it, the construction is solid. Sunset's right...triangulation does nothing with F-body's. Tomorrow the BMR bolts on!

I have the G2 3pt brace. My windshield is still fine. I mean i'm sure that it COULD crack if the conditions were extreme enough. But I dont think they'll be getting taht extreme anytime soon. I am happy with my 3pt.
