What's the best place to get an LQ9 block, L92 heads, and a 383 stroker kit? Looking at SRP pistons, Eagle rods, and possibly a Callies crank.

LQ9 used for around $300-500 out of any 6.0L GM truck.

They don't make a 4.00" bore 383 kit. That's only for the 3.90" bore. If you put a 4" stroke in a 4" bore, you'll wind-up with a 402. I'd do a 4.03" bore and a 4" stroke for a 408.

If you're looking to save money, I'd go with the Eagle recip (www.eaglerod.com) for the 408. Forged Eagle Crank, Forged Eagle Rods, Forged JE pistons.. all for less than $3000.

You can get the L92 stuff from GM.

Thanks Mike! So the LQ9 block from GM as well? No wreckers around here have any.

I'd double-check. A new one costs around $700, but a new aluminum LS2 block costs around $999. Your call
