thanks to chad from www.ls1sounds.com for getting it put up. here's a working link. http://ls1sounds.com/bassani.htm
Re: bassani dual exhaust
ok went to the track last night. picked up .2 and 2 mph NA and .3 and 3 mph on 200 n2o over when i had the stock exhaust no cutout. NA times are the same vs electric cutout. but on the bottle is where it shines. all these comparisons are based off the same track OSW.
NA times --- stock ----- cutout ---- bassani dual
60ft --------- 2.062 ---- 2.031 ----- 2.028
1/8 ---------- 8.855 ---- 8.729 ----- 8.701
mph --------- 82.34 ---- 83.70 ----- 84.13
1/4 ---------- 13.642 -- 13.449 ---- 13.422
mph --------- 102.66 -- 104.05 ---- 104.22
200 n2o ---- stock ----- cutout ---- bassani dual
60ft --------- 2.004 ----- 2.020 ---- 1.969
1/8 ---------- 7.873 ----- 7.990 ---- 7.739
mph --------- 93.26 ----- 92.16 ---- 95.81
1/4 ---------- 12.056 ---- 12.191 -- 11.814
mph --------- 118.46 ---- 118.20 -- 121.35
dates ------- stock ----- cutout --- bassani dual
NA and n2o- 6/17/04 - 11/3/04-- 12/22/04
overrall opinion. on a completely stock car, the dual is about the same as any other exhaust. BUT, as you can see, as you start to increase in power, the bassani keeps up. the stock exhaust with a 3" cutout becomes a restriction.

Of course it'll flow better than stock and stock Y with cut-out. It would suck if it didn't. Lets see about an aftermarket Y/catback car with or w/out headers or vs another dual system.
I'm not knocking ya, I'm just curious.
Its like the whole mandrel bend thing. Manufacturers always give higher flow numbers over stock sized exhausts, but they never show real world dyno #'s or track times of their products vs. the same diameter pressure bent system. They don't even show flow numbers of the mandrel vs pressure bend of the same diameter. This leads me to belive they aren't much better.
I'm a skeptical consumer, I like comperable comparisons and hard data.

Re: bassani dual exhaust
and i've got no problems doing the testing. i'm just not going to foot the entire bill. you want to see it, then help out. and it's not my product. it's bassani's. i'm just letting vinci high performance use my car to help in testing. i also let them use my wife's 99 formula to test other products as well. their LS1 heads were next on the wife's car until my tranny went out. but that's fixed. so her heads are back on the front burner. i tested bassani's headers on her car.
mandrel bending might be worth about 2-3 hp more over the crimp bend. i'm right there with you about being skeptical. i'd rather see testing without tuning also. because how many people put products on and tune it right then. most no one does. all the testing done on her car is without tuning. when the heads go on, i'll have dyno sheets showing before and after tuning.
and just to add, all the results i posted above were without tuning. parts on, then track.
