If by bank one you mean the bank that contains cylinder number one, it is the drivers side 
EDIT: Sh*t.. that is for a traditional sbc.. I dunno about the LS1's but I would assume its the same

lol, I thought you were talking about the bank I do business with "bank one" ........like " if there is a dispute, is the person on the bank side or the driver's side right?"
