Bad torque converter or not ?

OK, here's my situation.........

A few months ago I popped the SES light and the code was P1870 = torque converter clutch slipping (causing hard shifts when warmed up).

Found out it's probably caused by a bad valve body. Replaced that for $600.

A week later the problem was back. Just took it in, dealer said they would get the tranny under warranty (expired 4k miles ago) and replace it. Took it in today, they saw the Yank 3000 that I have and now all bets are off. They swear that since they replaced the valve body, that it's the torque converter.

So, I guess my next step is to swap back in the old one and find out.

Anyone with any opinions or insight into this, let me know. This totally blows. I have had the Yank in since about last May. If it does turn out to be the TC, then that is something you guys should think about before plopping down the big bucks.

The dealer won't even put my stock one back in because they don't want to have anything to do with it. Again, something to think about if you are under warranty.

Oh, and I can't even get my $600 back because they say it DID have a bad valve body and caused by the TC. Yeah, right, but how the heck can I disprove any of this stuff now
