B&M shiftplus

has anyone tried this $40 unit, is it worth it?

sleeperZragtop Apr 26, 2003 01:27 PM

It won't work on LS1 cars...otherwise it's a very cool unit...:)

Yes, it will work on our cars. But, you'll blow up your 4L60E.

In 98, the 4L60E was changed. The front pump went from steel to aluminum, and the Shift+ increases the line pressure quite a bit. Sooner or later, you'll blow the front pump because of the pressure demands.

That's why it will work on earlier 4L60Es, because the steel pump is stronger and can handle the extra line pressure:)

So i guess that 93-98 note includes camaro, that sucks for you guys, but i've got a 3.8L, I only asked you guys because no one in the v6 section wanted to talk about it, but i guess the v6 doesn't matter, i'll have to research this more,

Yes, don't use it on a 98 4L60E.

Go check LS1.com or LS1Tech.com. You'll hear the same response.
