B&B Ripper Shifters - Opinions?

Are these any good? I test drove a 6-speed LS1 the other day with one and didn't really care for it much. The short throw is nice but I didn't like the feel of the short gate. It felt cheap and clunky. It made me miss the Hurst in my Firehawk. I've driven cars with short throw shifters before but most were B&M. I haven't heard of B&B until now.

So tell me honestly, are these awesome shifters, just ok or pieces of crap? I don't know much about what's out there other than what I've owned, so opinions are very helpful. If I get this car, I think I'll replace the shifter altogether but I'd like some background first.

Thanks in advance

Anybody?

I have to make a decision on the car pretty quickly, so your help is appreciated.

I think that B&B is a misprint or bad memory on the sellers part, never heard of one.
It's probably a B&M.

I wondered the same thing but he was insistent. Ah well.

Opinions on the B&M then?

It is a B&M ripper shifter , not B&B . I have one in my car and I love it . Are you sure that the shifter is a ripper shifter because mine is nothing like you described ? The shifter is made from a piece of billet aluminum and has a very smooth and short pattern to it . Maybe the nylon like socket that the shifter fits into in the transmission is worn out . It takes only about 30 minutes to disassemble everything to inspect the shifter and the top of the transmission where it mounts .

I tried Pro 5.0 (which sucked), stock, Hurst, and B&M. The B&M shifted smoother and faster than all of them by far. The only drawback is that it has a billet stick, so you can't really shorten it.
