Auto Zone Brake Rotors: Regular Versus Extreme Directional

Is there a significant, or any, benefit to getting the "Extreme directional" rotors at autozone over the standard rotors?

directional rotors (such as the ones on the C5) offer minimal improvements on braking charactoristics...

Id suggest saving the money for better pads

What brake pads?

What brake pads do you recommend?

I've used the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads from AutoZone on my 95 Z28 and on my 99 Firebird and was happy with them. Not much brake dust and can't beat the lifetime warranty, either.

When ever my LS1 needs brakes, I'll most likely go with them again.

AZ basic "el-cheapo" rotors work great. However, stay away from the Aimco brand pads. Spend the few extra bucks for a better set of pads.

(don't ask how I know)
