Auto guys with 3.73s, and a HPP = what did you program?
My 4.10s broke in my rear end - so its time for a gear swap. The 4.10s were a little much in the car, so I'm going to tone it down a bit with 3.73s. I'm just wondering what other Autos have programmed with this gear combo.
I'm looking for:
- REV limiter
- Plus/Minus in MPH shifts
- Shift Frimness
Milo.

I don't know if i'll be much help. I had my trans built so i only have the firmness on 25%, any more than that it spins the tires to much during shifts. I have the shifts on minus 2 or 3, for the nos mainly. Tring to get it to shift around 5500. And i have the rev limiter set on 6400 just in case something happens.
Rev limiter - 6400
Shift firmness - 25%
1-2: +3 (6k shift)
2-3: +3 (6k shift)
3-4: +4 (6k shift)
This is a 98 A4 with 3.73s
I don't have the HPPIII anymore(LS1 Edit), but those were the settings I'd used...

Thanks man!
I'll give that a shot tomorrow.
Milo.
On the LT1 I set the rev 6200 RPM. On higher mileage engines the valves will start to float around 6000 RPMs when the springs and lifters have alot of miles on them. Other than that the same as everyone on everything else.
Same as Bone Maro.
You can play with the shift points if you have autotap to see the rpm shift points and see how far the rpm drops at the shift points.
The stall converter plays a big role in shift points also.
If you dont have autotap you can keep pushing the shift points until you hit the rev limiter and then back it off.
I went with Ed Wright programming, but have the HPP3 for sale.

I'm still shocked that he actually ran 4.10's in an automatic. That takes *****.

I just had 3.73 installed in my 2001 Z28, and used the SLP speedometer recalibrater. I still have my stock shift points, something I understand that you can leave alone, unless you plan to do alot of racing. My rev limeter is the stock setting (whatever that is), and I have yet to hit it.
I ordered the car with 3.23, and Z rated tires, and my understanding that the rev limiter is set to 6000 + anyway from the factory.
Good luck
