HAHA If you think 80k is to much for an lt1, you are very VERY wrong!

I have had 1 with 145,000 that ran excellent and 1 with 165,000 that ran even stronger.

That was the intent of the "gauge" by Ford. It doesn't show the engines true temperature to make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside about how cool your engine runs. Apparently it worked in this case

I am one of the few who pushed a LS1 head-gasket on my old motor. However, I hit it with nitrous and may have caught it low in the RPM range a couple of times... Also, the motor looked perfect upon tear-down...I just decided to go with a 383 instead.
