Post Anyone drive around with the cutout open all day?

I just put my cutout on earlier this week and went to the track, well I liked the sound of it open so much I have been driving around with it open all week. I love the tough musclecar sound and i have an m6 so when I shift at low rpm going through a subdivision you can't even tell its open. I have driven by two cops at 3500 rpm and they didn't even look at me. It sounds great to me and very suprisingly not too loud. I am just wondering if this will hurt anything under the car, I have it dumping right before the exhaust curves up over the axle and it is slightly pointed toward the rear right tire but it never feels hot. Anyone else drive with the exhaust cutout open?

I have had my cutout on since april and i havent closed it yet. I havent noticed any problems so far. Someone i think mentioned that it can make the interior of the car rattle over time but i havent had that problem yet. Besides that i dont think anything else could go wrong

It won't hurt anything. Besides, heating up the tires can only help you with traction.

It wont hurt anything. And the reason why it may rattle your interior is because the resonation is so great. Where did you put the cutout at?

I have mine right under the rear passenger seat and it rattles the hell outta my car, but I put it there for the intent to have it rattle and have the resonation the loudest...I like it loud!

I have had mine on for 3 years now and havent had any problems yet...you will be fine!

Uhh, I've never had a cutout before but isnt that kind of a health risk having it dump right under the passenger seat? If you idle stationary it could easily seep into the car.

Cutout? What is that? I'm imagining a hole in your exhaust, before the muffler, to let air out.

Is this the right picture? ANd if so, why would you want to do that?

i just got my dual cutouts installed yesterday right after my headers so i can essentially run open headers. it sounds sooooooooooooooo good and i just cant close them. but it is very very loud, sounds like a fully race prepped drag car.

Thanks for all the input everyone, I can't bring myself to cap mine cuz it sounds soooo good and I have it exiting right before the rear axle, I have been checking everything under the car and after going on a 250 mile trip nothing was even hot under the car. I am glad I got the cutout. At WOT it sounds so mean, its louder than most catbacks when you want it to be but is quiet at low rpms. Can't do any better for a $35 mod.

If afraid you get gases in the car, depends where you put your cut-out.

Mine is installed at the rear of the vehicule, where the pipe does a 90' before entering the muffler... it points downwards and backwards... so not to worry there, especially that mine is a vert.
