anybody have this problem
Haven't had the problem myself....but, you could probably use a small (very small) amount of thread-loc to keep it from working it's way loose. Do you take it out a lot or is it just something that started to happen on its own?

The weather is getting cooler now so just drive around with a can of fix-o-flat in the car.

Mine's rattled a bit since I put it back in (I had to use it after a small accident.) I think the jack is a little loose, or maybe the lugnut tool.
You almost need a damn engineering degree to get the thing back in there. I can never get that flimsy panel back on perfectly, either. That doesn't help.

That damn thing is useless. I actually used it back in 94 when I was on the road. Put it on the back and blew my rear end as a result (Smaller than stock tire) Have taken it out the day I bought my last two Fbodies brand new and inserted a can of fix a flat.
Besides, as said above it wieghs almost 40 pounds.

As long as you use the spare at extremely low speeds and acceleration and only as a last resort, you should be fine. Don't go above 40 or so, don't hit the gas, don't corner quickly, only use it for the absolute shortest distance you can, etc.
About 10 miles. I was on highway 40 in the middle of Indiana and was coming back to North Carolina off leave. I did about 45 miles per hour long enough to find an exit and get to a service station.
A posi/Limited slip is just that, "Limited". Weather your cornering or not the spare is making less revolutions than the tire on the other side. On a normal tire both wheels are making the same amount of revolutions except when turning. Any condition like that will tear up your rearend in a short amount of time. Don't mount the spare on the rear if it can be avoided. Hell, take a normal front and put it on the back and slap the spare on the front. If I could have got the Wheel lock off the front I would have done it myself.

I have the same problem, but it is very intermittent, so it doesn't bother me much at all.
And no, I'm not going to ditch the spare and replace it with a can of fix-a-flat.
Case in point: I was on a road trip this spring with my brother-in-law. We were driving from TX to CA and back by using mainly smaller roads and tried to avoid interstates as much as possible.
On a mountain road in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico, the passenger side rear tire decides to blow up.
It had a hole almost the size of a dime (hit something on the road) and no can of fix-a-flat would've ever sealed that thing off.

Worst thing was that since we were using smaller roads, there wasn't even cell phone coverage and the nearest town was about 15-20 miles away.
Spare definetely stays put in my car. If that means losing 0.00x seconds (most likely less) on the track, then so be it. shrug What ever floats your boat.
