anybody have # or no store that sells updated PCV

I wanted to replace my old PCV with the new type this weekend, ut don't know which store sells it-autozone, kragen. I've tried calling them up but they didn't seem to have it onl the old one. I even told them PCV for a ZO6 Corevette-which I thought had it, but guess not since it wasn't it. Is there another vehicle that GM sells that should have it from the factory? I'm sure the parts stores have this item but I need some type of number or vehicle

I assume you're talking about the PCV valve that has no valve or anything inside. I got mine from the dealership parts counter. Only place that probably has it save for one of those AC Delco auto part stores.

Yup go to the dealer, the 03 silverados also have the new style. The aftermarket companies are still selling off the old style.

The new style is identical to the "old style" but the new ones don't have that little ball valve that gets forced up and down related to crankcase pressure. The new ones are just hollow.

yes they are hollow so when you shake one it doesn't rattle, also the hole is smaller at the end so that oil has a harder time gettign into the throttle body.

Hey guys I plan on using this with the air compressor fitting that collects the oil http://govettego.com/mods/pvc/index.htm Do you guys use the new valve or the stock one with this mode. Seems this is the best ticket to keep out the oil

I've went and picked up the revised PCV from my local dealership today. It's not listed as a PCV, but as a "fitting". The PN# is 12572717 and lists for $5.79 with at cost running $3.55.

FYI

BTW, it looks like a PCV, but is indeed hollow. The big end has a hole about the size of the tip of a pen, and the small end looks regular and flared like a normal PCV.

Supposedly reduced oil consumption in the 99+ LS1s. I'm using it just to get less restriction in my PCV system due to running boost. Not to mention, you probably won't have to replace it for awhile since there's no check valve that can go bad or wear out.

If it actually increases oil flow, then it has to be a good thing.... Are there any reasons not to put the newer version on the car?
