Angry Anyboby have a problem with a factory alarm?

8 seconds after arming, the alarm goes off. It is a problem with the shock sensor circuit. It happen last winter. I had to disable the sensor until the dealer replaced the shock sensor, all was fine. This time around, it stopped after I shook the wires. I know its the shock sensor circuit because the car honks twice when I disarm it. By the way, the dealer I took it to was incompetent,so I can't trust they found the real problem to begin with. Any insight would be appreciated.

yea I had this problem lately too. take the sensor apart and see if it has water in it. mine did

btw all you need to do to take it apart is cut the zip tie off and then pry it apart with a scredriver or a dime or something

oh I dried mine out but have not reinstalled it so I dont know if it will work again or will have to be replaced either way this is likely your problem

BINGO!!! I did that on Saturday. The circuit board is fried. A new one is $32. The water rolls down the hatch when opened and finds its way into that area. 2nd time for me. I'm fixxing that before I fry another sensor. Any ideas? I'll let you know what I come up with. For now, I programmed the alarm to ignore the sensor.

Solution, don't wash your car or drive it in the rain

The owner's manual tells you haw to customize certain features of you car, including the alarm. It involves removing the radio fuse, turn the igniton switch to acc, and switching things on and off. (The manual is clearer than I am.) I don't like leaving wires unplugged, especially whee water is known to reach. I don't know what year the BCM (body control module) became programable. Check your manual.
