YO DUDE YOU NEED TO GET AN LT1 THEIR CHEAPER IN ALL KINDS OF WAYS. SOUND BAD *** COMPARED TO AN LS1, LT1 ARE BAD SOUNDING AND WITH THE MONEY YOU SAVE YOU CAN MOD THE CAR AND BEAT LS1's AND INSURANCE IS a lot CHEAPER AND THEY WON'T BREAK DOWN AS MUCH AS THE LS1 I HAVE A 95 Z28 WITH 175000 MILES THAT RAN BETTER THEN MOST CAMBERS OUT THERE BUT I SOLD IT TO GET A 6SPD AND LT1 WILL HOLD UP TO MODS AS TO LS1 THEY LIKE TO STAY STOCK CAUSE MODS ON A LS1 WILL NOT WITHSTAND LS1 LIKE TO STAY HEATHLY STOCK

You should go back to LT1 tech, because its pretty obvious you don't know much about LS1's. Turn off your caps lock while you're at it.

Yes, LT1's are cheaper. Yes, insurance should be cheaper since the car will be older. NO, the LS1 does NOT break down more often than the LT1. I want you to give me some specific examples of why you "think" LS1's are less dependable. This should be good for a laugh.

An LT1 and an LS1 both hold up to mods equally well. There are plenty of modded LS1's running around now to make it obvious that the cars withstand mods just fine. Mod for mod, the LS1 will be faster than the LT1 too, albeit the parts cost more.

If you don't want to drive a 6 - 10 year old car, the LS1 is the right choice. They can be bought for $10k - 12k if you look around.

I have had 2 LT1 cars, an A4 and M6...
I have an M6 LS1 car now...
The post about LT1s being better is crap.
I have had the fewest problems with my LS1 car, almost none as a matter of fact... My M6 LT1 was plagued with problems (Optispark, 'nuff said...) and my A4 car never measured up in either power, character, or driving fun to the other 2.
Love that LS1!

Yeah i agree that LS1s seem a little more advanced, like GM got smart with the opticrap situation and said fugit, spend some extra production $$ and give the LS1 indiviual coilpacks, thats one of the main issues with the LT1 motors is that stupid distributor (atleast thats why i wanna sell mine) and get an LS1 , bout 150 lbs lighter too than an LT!, no for my ?s
so from what ive learned the best year LS1 would etheir be a 00, cuz if they have thsame cam as a 98 and an LS6 intake thats the best of both worlds, please correct me if im wrong though, cuz so far after Basic and MTS (military technical school) ill be lookin at those beauties (LS1z), also i heard that the SS was the fastest f-body LS1 cars overal, true? and which car has the most efficient Ram air hood T/A or SS?
thanks

'00 model cars don't have LS6 intake stock. That started in 2001.

Although they all put out roughly the same amount of power, especially after you put a catback exhaust on any particular model, the fastest LS1 F-body (given you don't buy a dud) would be a Non-WS6 Stripper Formula since it weighs the least out of any F-body.

The more efficient Ram Air setup would be the WS6 sytle, simply due to hood scoop position.
