Another Engine Noise Post
Ok, I'm familiar with piston slap and the normal loose GM engine sound's. My 02 SS seams to have a lifter noise from the odd bank of the engine. I am a Tech for a living and I'm prety sure this is what I'm hearing. The sound is coming from up high like in the valve cover area. Is this a common thing in these cars? Is it usually a collapsed lifter, a bad rocker, pushrod ETC? I have an extended warranty and am going to try to get them to cover a cam and lifter's, but am expecting the claim to be declined because the part hasnt failed yet. So i am probably going to be on my own with this repair. Because it seems like a lot of work just accessing the valve train on the Camaro I probably will replace everything, but if the lifter's are generally not the cause of this noise maybe I can buy a little time to save up the money for a cam and head swap with long tubes(probably KOOK's). I am also not sure which roller rocker's fit under the stock valve cover's. Any suggestions would be a great help!!!!
