amount of psi?

amount of psi?

I;m in the market for a SC and i was wondering what the best amount of psi would be to run without blowing tranny and rear like some other guys....98 camaro ss...thanx Greg

seems like most ls1s are pretty happy with 6-8psi...maybe more if it's intercooled.

i would worry more about blowing pistons and interenals....

Yeah, you wouldn't blow your rear-end/tranny unless you're running some heavy duty slicks on the stock 10 bolt... but good luck with traction otherwise.

On a stock motor, I wouldn't go over 7 1/2 lbs of intercooled boost. That's what ProChargers run at and they have a pretty sweet setup. If you want things to last a little longer, they have a 5 lb pulley you can get. I'm guessing the difference is ~130HP vs ~90HP at the crank. If it's a matter of parts not breaking long term, I'd run the 5 lb until track day...and then switch to the 7 lb. Just my 2cents.
