Alternator whine

I am getting a whine from my alternator. The pitch increases with engine RPM. any ideas?

on a side note; i have the same thing on my honda.

Probably bearings -- it will eventually die. I had an alternator that kinda sounded like a super-charger. It was kinda cool at first, but I was not too impressed when the car died on me while I was driving.

Mine took a while to die too.

Mine on my roughly 60,000 mile vert had this. It started to get loud and sounded like supercharger. I got new gm alt and that was that. Easy as pie install at least but gm alts are pricey.
