To All LS1 owners, that have Magnaflow exhaust.........
on their cars. I have a few questions. Did you get the 3" exhaust or the system with the 2.5" exhaust? How did you get it (3 inch)to fit the stock Y pipe? Has it caused you any problems (the fitting)? How big is the pipe on the stock exhaust system? The reason that I ask these questions is that one of the shops that I visited told me that there could be a problem with the exhaust rattling and so forth because of the 3 in. So please help me out. Do I tell him to go ahead with the 2.5 inch system that the Magnaflow people say is for the v6 camaro's or should I request the 3's that I WANT, and the Magnaflow people say is better suited for the V8 cars (fbods)? Also do you guys that have the 3 in. have any noise (rattling, or not sounding right)? Thanks for the help.
If a shop is telling you it will rattle. Find another shop. Thats the oldest line when it comes to not wanting to stand behind their work. These systems are made to fit. If the instructions say it may rattle then he may have a point but dont count on it.

my '99 ss came with an optional exhaust, but the i-pipe looks to be the usual 2.75".... i havent measured it yet, so dont hold me to that. it also has a crappy crimp where it goes over the panhard rod that i dont like.
i had a flowmaster catback on my LT1 that didnt have that crimp.
