airlid install question- need help quick!

I am installing the 00-02 slp air lid in my 2000 as we speak and i ran into a problem. the mass airflow sensor has a little notch on the bottom left hand corner on the neck. the stock airlid had the neck of the airlid pushed out on the lower left side so it would fit. the slp is perfectly round and i cant get the slp air lid to fit straight on the mass airflow sensor cause it hits the notch. what do i do?

Exclamation I had problems the first time due to a bad lid.

But, I do not remember that notch causing any difficulty.

See here for some good info .

My suggestion is to try a little never sieze on the neck of the lid - it may help it go on a tad bit easier, and certainly helps when you go to remove it for whatever reason !

SLP told me that the slp air lid is designed to go with the 85 mm maf they sell and told me to cut the neck of the lid to go around the raised notch. how can i be the first with this problem? well i cut it and i got a really tight fit so i guess thats what matters.
