AIR - Is it necessary?

I mean seriously, why can't we just live in space?... j/k

Seriously though - The pipe that goes from the Intake to the Passenger side Exhaust manifold... If I got headers without AIR or EGR, Can I remove this hose entirely or will it throw a code?

they are there to help heat up the cats during start up...to increase the efficiency of the cats.

if you take out the cats...the system is pointless

And the one from the intake to the manifold is the EGR.

EGR and or AIR system removal will set codes. You'll need to have them tuned out.

nope, just yank them out, block out the flanges and your good to go. You can go with headers with no provisions and all you need to do is remove and enjoy the cleaner engine bay.

You may have to also delete some codes but i cannot remember 100% since it was a long time ago when i did it. I dont think so but it wouldn't to look.

laterz!

oops...didn't notice he mentioned the wrong pipe...

yeah intake to manifold is def the EGR

both EGR and AIR can be removed. they will set codes, but the codes have NO affect on the running condition of the engine.

ran with the codes for a year
