Post Air Lid Problem need advice

Well its not realy a problem. Just a few questions. I just put on a new SLP lid and bellow. when i first started the car after that install. the car wanted to die out, runing a low RPM. then i think the computer made some adjustments now it idels at about 900 rpm. The other think i found was a quicker throttle responce.the tach rises and falls faster. but the car seems to have lost power the car sounds fine runs fine. but when you hit the gas the car dosent give that digging felling like befor. if you have a problem like this or can give me some info about this please help.

That doesn't sound good at all!I noticed a difference with the lid as soon as I drove the first time after the installation.Did you damage a sensor or something when you swapped everything over?Maybe the IAT?Good luck.

Have you thrown any SES codes? You might have a leak in your Bellows. If extra air is getting past the MAF it will screw up your idle. First try checking the seal. Then try relearning the idle. I forget the exact proceedure, but if you post the question I'm sure someone here will know it.

I'm sure you've done this already, but double check the areas where the SLP bellows connects up to the throttle body and the MAF. I installed the bellows yesterday onto my car and it STILL isn't fitting quite right. It runs fine though. Good luck.

It's not unusual for it to run rough at first after removing a sensor, so that's ok.

IMO, I wouldn't trust your seat of the pants feeling on hp. Honestly, you can't notice a 7-10 hp gain that easily. Weather conditions can completely make the car feel sluggish, fooling you, etc...

If you aren't hearing any high pitch whistling, then it should be sealing ok. If no SES light is on, then the sensors are good too.

By the description, my impression is that there isn't a problem, just thatit's tough to feel the gain. I helped on a car where we added a pulley, lid and MAF to the car (gaining 22 hp on the dyno), and when I drove the car before and after, I honestly couldn't tell the diff. It's too easy to fool yourself (if you know what I mean).
