Thumbs down air conditioning shutting off and heater turns on

Car only has 4300 miles so it's under warranty but what bad luck I have with this car. Whinning rear, piston slap, clunks into gear, rotors were replaced at only 4k miles, alarm shock sensor replaced at 600 miles. Clutch went up in smoke because of sticking clutch. I love driving this car but wonder about it quality.

when does the A/C turn off? are you acceleration or anything.....is the heater coming on or is your A/C just blowing hot air?

Mine turns off for no reason at all in 6th gear cruising at 70 for a good 10-20 seconds at a time. annoying as hell.

Yesterday the air was just somewhat cold so I suspected something was wrong. Today I drove the car one way, 20 miles and it was ice cold and was like this most of the drive home and then I heard this thudd sound in the dash and the air shut off and hot heat started coming out. When I got of the highway I tried the air again and the same thing happened everytime I turned the air one it would blow ice cold for no more than a couple secs and then the thudd sound and hot air. I have no air now just heat. It's 90 today so I certainly don't need heat. Doesn't seem to matter if I am cruising or accelerating. It's probable just a sensor that's made in Mexico. Now I have to take my fipk unit off and install the stock lid back on.

My father said he a has a 73 Caddy that did the same thing and it was a sensor. I gonna but my direct flow lid back on and not the stock one since the two dealers I go to don't give a crap about that or most mods. Pisses me off when it's hot out and your running the air and then it shuts off and the heater comes on. Then its 150 in the car instead of JUST 100. At least its under warranty. This is my 1st new car and I have had more things go wrong with it in the 1st 9 month then cars that I had that were from the 70's and had 100k + miles. They sure don't build them like they used to.
