Air Box Base
Is the Air Box Base on a Z/28 the same as an SS?
The reason I am asking is because I am purchasing a SS hood, and I want to make it functional. What would I need to purchase to make it work other than the screen and rubber seal that goes around the air box?

The air box and (non SLP) lid are the same, there is just a little rubber piece that goes where the air comes into the intake. The rubber piece just goes on the bottom to help more air flow in, it's not completely sealed. That is how SSs come stock.
I don't believe there is a intake that will completely seal to a 98-02 SS hood.

Actually, it makes sense, because if you look at the two hoods, the WS6 sits up higher, like it's just "slapped on", where as the Firehawk hood is molded into the lines and "flows" with the body.
Not sure about that. I think it sits about an inch and a half higher than the regular one. So take a block or somethng about that width and set it on your lid, underneath the lowest part of your hood (not sure about SS's) Then gently close your hood, and if it doesn't hit, you'll be fine.
