about to order heads/cam, please help

ok everyone. I finally decided and have the money. I'm about to order a H&C package for my car. What I want is a NA motor with great power and maybe a 100shot of nitrous on top of that and dip into the low low 11's maybe high 10 second 1/4 mile times. Please let me know in laments terms what I should look for. I am going through my local performance shop, but want to be sure what heads/cam to get thanks again.

i would say check out the site vendors for the cam packages. anything in the 230 range with decent lift, and a set of stg 2 LS6 or 5.3L heads will produce great numbers after a good dyno tune.

I'm sorry, I'm dumb. What would decent lift be? And what kinda hp #'s should I be looking at it considering I have full longtubes with cutout, and currently have 334 rwhp 375 rwtq thanks.

if going through a shop they should be able to give you some solid advice, but for an N2O setup I would consider a set of Stage 2 5.3L heads and a 232/238 114LSA cam. this setup will be streetable and also N2O friendly. we went 11.4 at 122mph with that setup NA.
remember getting down the track is about more than just power, you have to be able to put that power to the pavement. if you don't have one start planning for a 12 bolt.

yes am all set for 12 bolt. Don't have one yet but have 2 other cars, so ready when I need it. Just trying to get a few opinions so I can run a NICE NA setup, and when I am at the track or want a little more boost, run nitrous. -100shot

a decent cam and good ported heads with a tune should get you 425hp to the wheels pretty easy

i guess decent lift would be .570+

and then later on down the road, I should be good to run a 100 shot of nitrous or so without worrying about blowing my motor up am I correct?

with nitrous you should always be worried about blowing your motor up...that's alot of hp to add in a fraction of a second, on top of an already stressed engine (~500hp at the crank depending on h/c).

make sure you run the proper precautions

I will be running a window switch so it shouldn't be a total shock load to the motor.

the window switch still starts the flow at a specific rpm...so the load is the same as if hitting a button.

fuel pressure safety switch is another precaution.

ps: I mainly want my cam for NA, but just want a nice gain with nitrous. I don't plan on using nitrous very often. Only when needed.
