Ive owned only 1 car with an auto, but my cars since 1970 have all been manuals. A sports car aint a sports car if it drives itself

my ws6 is a manual and sometimes i wish is was an auto..... other times i am glad i chose the manual because its just relaxing to shift, knowing your telling the car what to do and the tranny is shifting for you. plus the m6 is a bit stronger than the a4 but you either pay to build up ur tranny or pay to buy a new rear, take your pick

Not impling you cars not fast simply saying a stick makes for alot more enjoyable drive on twisty country roads autocross etc. Autos have there place in traffic and at the track uummmmmm cant think of any other reasons to own an auto. But thats me When Im ready for an auto it will be attached to a barkerlounger with a LS1

A4 over here. Only twice a week do I get to go out on the highway, and those are the times where I'd would really want an M6. I'm perfectly fine with automatic.

what about high horsepower ls1's, then which would you rather have, a4 or m6???? im talking in the 500 hp range and up...and know there you would have to change or build the tranny...

Talking Another A4 minority member here !

M6 was not even a choice as the wifey physically can't drive a stick, and has to be able to at least move the car in an emergency.

However, I do get irritated at those cracks about it not being a "real sports car" unless it's a manual - I heard it from a tire slinger at Discount.

I tried to explain about the stall converter & drag racing, but it fell on either deaf or dumb ears.

Oh, well.

Too bad there is not a way to build a car like the old driver's ed simulators - our had a "fold up" clutch pedal and 3 on the tree when you wanted to operate in gear grinding mode.

You just did not want to get caught as the instructors just didn't see the fun in it.

a definite plus...

i do kind of wish i had an M6 at times purely for the fun factor, but ever since i got into running the car at the track and not going mid 13s anymore, i wouldnt trade my "slushbox" for anything!

manual on a nice curvy road =

look on 6 speed guys face when u dust him off in a straight line=

Converted from a M6 to a full manual A3 for bracket racing.
