Took the Z out to the track for the first time this past Friday temp 74, 85% humidity.

13.64@ 107.63 R/T .613

Only mod on the car is a flow tech exhaust cutout, my SLP lid will be on for the next run to the track

Unhappy

Well, for some reason I've got a slug I guess?? I don't know how much extra weight the factory ground-effects adds, but for some reaseon my car (with lid & filter) only ran 14.008 @ 102.99mph with a 2.101 60' time. The only problem the night I ran was that it was extremely humid, and the temperature was between 85-90 degrees. Otherwise, I thought that traction wasn't bad --- the tires really didn't spin much --- and I felt like the car was running pretty strong, but I guess the 2.73's really do suck?!

Is it possible though that I got a factory "freak" that's on the slower end of the scale, as opposed to some cars which guys claim run 13.flat, or even 12.9's??? It seems like all the times are mid-13's on average?...............................I wish!

Capn Pete,
There are so many variables involved that it's insane to try to compare your car to any other that wasn't run at the same track at the same time.
Here's a for instance. My car ran a 12.15 @ 111.3 at Stanton, MI in 45 degree, 55% hum, and 30.3 baro. At 90 degrees, 85% hum, and 29.0 baro it would probably run 12.6-7 at 106-7mph. If the track altitude was 3500 ft instead of 700 ft probably low 13s at best.
So don't be bummed by the posted bests of others. Their cars may run exactly the same times as yours at your home track in the same conditions that you run in.

At Stanton I ran 12.67 @111.23 in 90 degree temps. If I remember right the humidity was somewhere between 80-90%
I haven't had a chance to get it out in the cold weather, plus now I have longtubes and FTRA with a few other small stuff
Not bad for a stock stall 2.73 geared car on true street tires

I'm sure there's probably some truth behind that. The first (of two) nights I ran my car at the track, a guy there had a '99 Z28 M6 with a set of headers, and he only ran a 13.8 or 13.9, yet he said that last year he ran ~13.5, so I think the traction really sucked. Also, there were LT1 cars running mid-13's, but obviously they just had a lot more work done to their cars, 'cause my friend was there with his '96 T/A, and his best run was a 14.7!? (his is also A4 w/2.73's).

Next year my plan is to A) install 3.73's, B) maybe get a shift-kit installed, and C) try running at different tracks.................I may have more luck at one than another??

Yes I have 2.73's
Can someone tell me the part number for GM 3.73's that I would need for a 2002 A4 Z28?
