i recently came across a 99SS with 60k miles, 6speed and may be able to pick it up for around 5 grand. It needs a tranny and motor rebuild. What am i looking at in terms of cost to do a motor build up and rebuilt tranny? I realize there are many factors that can determine the price, im just trying to find out if its a good deal, and what the approx cost is

Welcome to the board. To answer your question you can check around on ebay and find complete engine trans combo's for around 4k. That would probably be better than rebuilding the engine and trans.
