99 a-4 z-28 v/s 00 t/a 6 speed no ram air which is faster
All things being equal.... from a roll or at speed the 6 speed should win 75% of the time...
From a dead stop with decent traction the Auto should win 75% of the time.
If your wanting to go straight for speed (drag racing) it will take less power to go faster (ET wise) with the auto....
ALL THINGS being equal the AUTO will have the advantage is straight line drag racing....
Street racing between lights, top speed, dyno and autocross etc..the manual should have the advantage with a average driver.
Not saying you can't haul a** with a manual... but short time (60FT) is HUGE in a drag race... the auto wins that

I respectfully disagree. An A4 car w/out an aftermarket converter is still going to get beat by an M6 in the 1/4. The ones I've ran w/a stock converter may jump me off the line, but by the end of the track I'm out in front of them.
I agree with Greed.
Being equal, both drivers and cars...not a factory freak against a slug and both drivers know how to drive.
From a roll, the M6 should win every time.
From a stop, if the M6 gets a good launch...it should win.
Obviously, an A4 with a big stall (or not so big, just a 2800 or higher) and tires is a totally different story, from a stop.
