'98 Z28 Individual Coil Packs

so from what I read in here lately the 98 Z28, or for that matter all LS1's, are UNIQUE in that they have INDIVIDUAL COIL PACKS comapred to the 99-02 LS1's?

I suppose this makes changing the plugs even more difficult then the well known problem of the 'last two' plugs. I need to change these and don't think I'm capable of doing it YET I don't trust taking it anywhere they MOST PROBABLY will NOT change thwe last 2 "hard to reach" plugs.

How would I ever know if a garage would do this considering how tough it is for most people who post in here have said?

This is how you can tell if they changed them or not. Pull the plug wires off the #7 and #8. Jack the car up and crawl underneath and look around until you see those two plugs. You can see the writing on them. Then buy the plugs you want in your car to give to the shop or tell them exactly what kind to put on. When you get your car back home, repeat and make sure they are the new plugs.

But I would not be taking my car to a shop that I could not trust in the first place.

I did mine myself, it took like 4 hours total but I did it. If I can do it anyone can. I have stock manifolds and they are the toughest to do it with.

The 98's coil packs aren't on rails like the other years. This site helped me out a bunch.

All have individual coils. The difference is that the early ones had each coil mounted separately, while the newer ones are mounted as an assembly, four on each side. The mount method makes no difference to changing the plugs.
