98 Z28 Clutches

I am looking at buying my friends 98' Z28. After reading quite a few posts about the LS1 clutches, I am wondering what to look for to make sure that his does not have any problems. The car is basically stock, and really hasn't been abused. About 50k miles on it.

Any quick checks to see if the hydraulics are about to take a dump? I have a 94' Z28 with a SPEC stage II and never had any problems with it. Just heard MANY stories about the hydraulic throw out bearings on the newer LS1 cars.

Come on guys .... I know that there have been / still are clutch problems with the LS1's. ANYONE got any opinions or quick checks I could do on the car to see if it is "about to go".

How about is there any throw out bearing replacements out there to get instead of the stock GM stuff. Read a listing talking about the new 02's where GM "might" replace your weak *** clutch with some Z06 stuff. No other info just that ... any experiences ????
