I have had a few people tell me they would never buy a LS1 98 cause it had major oil consumption issues etc. would you really let that sway your decision when buying a car?

I hate to say this right out loud but your few people don't know what they are talking about.
Our 98 SS uses no oil in the 3000 miles between changes and never has.

I've actually heard the opposite. I hear that most 98 LS1's don't have the piston slap problems or consume oil like 99-00 F-Bods.

ive heard the same as the other guys.......i gotta let my 99 z warm up a little unless i wanna hear a little piston slap for the ride. i also gotta put about half a quart in between oil changes(usually about 2500 miles).i havent heard of the 98's doin that.

I have a 98 Z and have had no major problems with it. On really cold days, if i do not let her warm up and drive off i get some piston slapping for the first few blocks. Like i said no real issues. and she does not use any oil in between changes

How much does a waterpump for an LS1 cost and how much to get one installed?

Do you have to drain all the coolant when they install it too and can I buy this part at NAPA?

94,000 miles, never had piston slap, and consumes very little oil (like 1/2 quart changing every 6,000)
