Not sure if this the right place to post ? Anyway I bought a 91 camaro that the guy was doing a lt1 swap . I will be doing a LS1 swap . The car came with a 94 4l60e trans from a lt1 car . Will this trans work with a LS1 . A guy I work with says no . Thanks

 

The bell housing depth is shallower for the LS1 years than the LT1 years.

Yes it will. You need a adpater that makes up the clearance. Hughs and TCI make one.

 

That makes up for the physical difference. But doesn't make up for the differences in the computer control of the shifting. A $700 stand alone controller for the trans would fix this but now he'd have an adapter and the controller to buy. Might better pick a used/rebuilt 4l60e that fits and works with the LS1.

 

If hes running a LS1 ecm it will control the 94. If hes running a carb'ed LS1 then he would have to buy a stand alone.

I'm running the 01 LS1 ecm file on on my 89 with a 4L60E from a 94 blazer with longer tailshaft.
