5.3 in a 94 Camaro

I can get a complete 5.3 or a 6.0 truck engine for a decent price. Would this be possible using LS headers, engine crossmember, accessories, harness, intake, etc? I like the truck engine idea for the budget factor and they make decent power stock. We're building an Autocross car and I think that the low end grunt would get it off the corners quickly. Also, we're going to set it up with a TKO600 to save weight over the T56.

I have another related question, which exhaust is the hot ticket? I have MAC equipment on my GT and I love the minimal interior resonance. Since it's my girlfriend's car, so the quieter the inside [without having to use dynamat] the better.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but when you guys say, "1999 camaro SS M6, does the M6 or A4 designate trans? I'm trying to learn to speak Camaro

Your plan will work but I've heard that if you want the factory gages to work you'll need a crossover harness.
Hooker Aerochamber is very quiet at idle and cruise but beastly when the go pedal is pushed.
And yes M6= manual six speed and A4=automatic 4 speed.

Will the engine crossmembers interchange? From a 94 to 98-up?

Sweet, It's on then!! The only real PITA I'm expecting to run into is the wiring.

What about fuel lines from in-tank to motor? Will I just need a donor car or can I piece this together?

Four months after my last post we bought this:

I have an unrelated question. Can we post feeler ads to see what people would pay of we decided to sell? We don't wanna sell it to some conehead that'll demolish it to the point of no return. We'd rather sell it to someone wanting to do a motor swap or fix it as a DD. I didn't wanna post in the classifieds and be called a noob, ha!

I'm actually considering buying a '98 Firehawk Clone hard top, it was a v6, has a 5.3 swapped, with a '00 Trans Am K-Member, 4l60, front and rear bumper covers, hatch, interior and wireing harness.

It was for a friends Ex-wife and he's run out of motivation on it, from the fire wall forward and everything under is ready; fuel lines, exhaust, it just needs to have the interior installed, gages, vats bypass and a few other things done. He said it was a pretty easy swap, headers, intake and transmission all lined up.

I want it more as a V8 roller for a turbo build, that won't see much street use, he's battleing with title issues... other wise I really want it.
