454 LS block
454 LS block
I read in the March 06 issue of GM High Tech Performance the World Products just cam out with an aftermarket LS block named the WarHawk. Its stronger than the C5R block and about $2k less. I checked out World Products web page and couldnt find any info on it. Any one know anything about this new monster motor?
Re: 454 LS block
wish i could remember the name of the magazine i was reading today while in line. it also mentions the warhawk and has pix but didnt show a price. its supposed to be a bad *** motor but they didnt mention about fitting it into any vehicle.
Re: 454 LS block
I just saw a clip on MotorTrend's website that showed an MTI car (GTO) with a 7.5L (455c.i.) motor and an STS turbo kit that put 800+hp to the wheels. Maybe you should see what they've got on their website...
Re: 454 LS block
According to GM High Tech Performance the Warhawk block is $3999.99 (PN 086230). They have pics and info on the block, but not of a complete engine.
I'll look at the MTI 7.5L but I want the strength of the Wehawk.

Re: 454 LS block
It's an LS7 based block. SDPC has it..

"While 6 Liter LS2 and 7 Liter LS7 engines are cool, you should know that World’s Warhawk® block can accommodate a 4.125” bore (with .100” thick dry sleeves backed by .300+ aluminum) and a 4.250 stroke crankshaft without any modifications. That’s a whopping 454 cubic inches.
GM’s C5R block has a .070” cylinder wall sleeve that’s backed with only .170” of aluminum block. The Warhawk® has .100” thick Ductile Iron sleeves and .300-plus block to prevent “ballooning” of the sleeve when pressure is applied."

Re: 454 LS block
the Warhawk block is not yet released and not due out until Aug. the last I heard, someplaces are taking orders though. Just the block will retail at $3999, it is not a shortblock setup at that price

Callies Magnum crank

of course this is just me, but no way would I throw $4k at just a block and then put budget parts in it
