Smile Is 375 rwhp possible with a ZO6 cam and bolt on's?

I plan to limit my self to the mods below. I would like headers too, but I live in Cali, the smog b!tch state. This is also why I want to use a ZO6 cam.....stealthy.

you won't make 375 rwhp with only those. With all of my mods, except the HPP3, i made 300.7 rwhp. With a ZO6 cam add maybe 10-15rwhp tops. you want 375? Headers are the next step. Do some looking. It can be done in CA. Just gotta do some sneaking around the federal stuff.

It's possible. You'll more than likely need LTs though. We'll take a look.

Baseline dyno: 310 rwhp for an '02
Lid and catback: 325 hp
pulley and free mods: 330-335 hp
LTs or mid lengths: 355 hp
Z06 cam (proven 30 rwhp increase with many bolt ons): 380 hp

On non 01-02s add an LS6 intake to make up for the small power difference between the years. *shrug* This is all hypothetical, but it sure looks quite possible to me. I plan on doing it.

This is the way I figure it, (I got these figures from dyno results posts on this board);

Now with FIPK and Exhaust = 325 rwhp (verified)
z06 cam = 25 rwhp
predator = 10 rwhp[
tb = 5 rwhp
pulley = 10 rwhp
TOTAL = 375

I am just not sure if you can simply 'add them up' or together you get different results.

I got 339.4 rwhp / 349.8 rwtq with a cutout and fipk. I think with long tubes, pulleys, cam, etc... you should be able to make at least 370-380 hp... I don't think it would be a problem at all. What does you car dyno now?

nobodys results are going to be exactly the same. i would say that u have a fair shot at at 350-370 W/ some form of headers. get smog legal shorties if u must but get SOMETHING other than stock manifolds.

Shorties won't give you a measurable gain on an LS1. Especially on the 01s and 02s with the Z06 manifolds... The stock manifolds breathe surprisingly well compared to shorties and even some mid-length headers.

If I'm making 325 rwhp right now. Adding a LS6 cam, pulley, tb and Predator has got to be worth more than 350 rwhp.

the throttle body won't net you 5 rwhp, thats pushing it. A pulley might give you 5 rwhp. But, you will need headers for 375.

JD Harris, why are your ET times so slow? with those mods and an M6, you could pull low low 13's, or high 12's

I'm doing the LS6 cam with a cutout. This is my theoretical breakdown.

Stock: 307
LID/Filter/Bellow/Free Ram Air Mod +13
z06 cam +30 (that's the average gains I've seen on 01s and 02s)
cutout +12
TOTAL 362

Like GOFAST said the pulley is worth 5. The TUNE more like 7 and the TB like 3. So you 'd be close to:
Now with FIPK and Exhaust = 325 rwhp (verified)
z06 cam = 30 rwhp
predator = 7 rwhp[
tb = 3 rwhp
pulley = 5 rwhp
TOTAL = 370

Next to a cam and long tubes, a cutout gives you alot of bang for the buck.
If you get a cut-out instead of the ported TB and pulley you get to 374, plus it's cheaper and easier to do IMO.

Thats not the average, that's the top end, although it has been acheived quite a few times. You need an LS6 intake (which 01/02s have) and more than likely LTs.

If the pulley and TB are only worth 10 rwhp I would rater use the $ 500 toward SFCs and Hawk pads/durastop rotors. The cam kit and predator are worth still worth $1000.

375 is possible ... but highly unlikely without LTs and an ORP ... and probably not even then with Predator tuning ...

Predator is fine for a bolt on car, but it won't give you what you need with a cam ... at it's best it is just another mail order tune and now that LS1 Edit is widely available everyone is findng out how mediocore all the mail order tuners were. By the time you pay for the Predator base tune and a custom profile for a cam, you can pretty much pay for a custom dyno tune, which is the way you really should go is you want the most out of your cam ...

Good Luck

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH TORQUE YOU LOSE LOW IN THE RPM RANGE BY GOING WITH THE ZO6 CAM/HEADS WITH AN A4? WOULD A GOOD DYNO/TUNE SESSION HELP IN THAT AREA? I WOULD NOT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY IF I AM GOING TO ONLY GAIN HORSEPOWER AND NOT GAIN, OR LOSE TORQUE DOWN LOW.
