Question 275/40/17 rub on lowered car?

I just made an appointment to have springs and shocks installed. The car will be lowered 1.2 in. My next mod is to purchase new rims and 275/40/17 tires.

Will I have any problems with clearance now that the car is lowered? Will I need to specify a different offset or back spacing (from stock) when I make the purchase. Perhaps the wheel wells are big enough without any deviations?

Thanks for the feedback

My car is low, and the 275's on stock wheels never rub. I have ran WS6, Firehawk and SS 17x9 wheels. I run 315's all the way around on 17x11's now. They will rub on a hard corner, and suprisingly fit better up front than in the back.

Stay away from wheels that have less then 6 3/4" back spacing, 7" would be a good choice.

I got the pro-kit sitting on 17x9.5 ZR1's with 275 40's and have no issues at all. I hope this helps.

The only time mine rubbed was when the alignment guy adjusted the panhard bar wrong. Even then it would only rub under very hard cornering in right hand turns. I easily had about an inch or more clearance on the other side though. Convertible wheel wells used to be tighter but I think they're the same now after about 98 or so.
