Question 2001-2002 LS1s with LS6 intake manifolds from the factory?

This question baffles me i read in an earlier post the the 98-00 LS1 f bodies came with the standard LS1 intake manifold with an EGR valve, and a more aggressive cam. Now the thread also stated that the 2001-2002 came with the LS6 intake manifold with a toned down cam. now my question is why would you buy an after market LS6 intake manifold when all you to do is buy a used one off ebay of a salvage yard for under a hundred bucks VS $450 and just modify it to fit the EGR valve? Iam not sure if this can be done but if it can i can get a 2002 intake manifold for 50 bucks and port the hell out of it so please shed some light on this matter someone.
below is the cam specs originally posted by:

01-02 LS1 dur 198/197 lift .478/.478 w\ 115LSA
THANKS FOR THE FIGURES

Your going to port plastic??!? Have fun. And if you can find an LS6 manifold for $50 more power to you. But I have never see one go that low. And the chances of you getting leaks out of your egr mod is pretty high. You just better off saving up the money for an aftermarket piece.

the 01-02 has no egr and is the same intake the ls6 gets.. all 01 and up ls1 and ls6 use the same intake..

I'm confused Phantom. I've read in numerous posts that the EGR could be (and was) eliminated because of the installation of the milder cam. Are you now saying that there is no EGR/cam relationship?

Don't they sell an EGR block off kit for the LS1? Couldn't you use that with the LS6 intake? Just curious.

No disrespect, but the 2000 LS1 cars came with EGR valves.

The 01-02 cam is reverse split?? If keeping the same intake, wouldn't it make sense to go with a longer duration reverse split cam then?
