I guess I am a member of the LS1 club now lol. I traded in my 117k miles lt1 for a 58k miles ls1. The lt1 needed more work than I could dish out. Car is in real clean condition other than a cat they have to replace cause they know its bad. Oil pressure in this one is different than the lt1 though. Seems to run lower rpms down the road i assume due to the 2.73 gears vs the 3.23s. Idle is about 20 hot and about 50mph its about 30. This seem about right? At 50 it was only at 1500rpms.

20 may be a little low try changing the oil, mine runs about 35 with 10-30 valvoline.dont use mobile 1 it nets low pressure everywhere.a lot of people use the german castrol also.
i had a 97z28 before my 99 and it ran 7.80s on a 150 shot,my 99 with bolt ons run 7.80s.both times the car was spinning so both cars could of went faster..dont spend money on a new cat put some pacesetter lts on it.

Re: 2000 z28

I had the engine pcm scanned and found codes DTC P0327 or P0332. I know they both go to the KS. When I spoke to the dealer they said they had been replaced and that the faulty cat could cause these codes to set as well. Anyone know if this is true? No matter what since the light was set as I left the dealer they are going to fix the issue but just dont want them to change the cat and clear the code and call it good or anything.

Those knock sensor codes cannot be caused by a failed catalytic converter. They're caused by either a failed knock sensor or connection at the sensor. Both of those are usually caused from the corrosion that occurs when water gets under the intake manifold (like when a dealer cleans the engine bay ) and pools in the knock sensor wells.
