even though I own a 00 T/A A4, I am going to have to say the SS may win over the WS6 for one reason, and one reason only... the SS is much lighter than the WS6. my friend has a 2000 SS A4 and with only a lid, bellows, FRA, and Nitto's he pulled a 13.05 @ 106.92mph on a 1.93 60'

my can of pepsi tastes better than your can of pepsi!!!!!

lets see here.... same engine.... same drive train.... near identical weight... *ponders* yep! i see a clear winner!!!

someone argued aerodynamic drag on this topic? you gotta be kidding me lol! maybe at mach speeds the aerodynamic differences between an ss and a ws6 "might" cause a significant performance difference to discuss.... but not with sub 110mph trap speeds? your compairing a ws6 to an ss.... not a semi...

these topics are always good for a laugh .

The better driver will win with all else being equal (transmission, tires, and gears.)

I agree !

Although the SS may be a bit lighter, it is not by much. Definitly not enought to change the outcome of the race. It all comes down to the drivers.

I dunno... With all things equal, if the WS6 has the optional seats, that driver will be more comfortable than the one driving the SS... and therefore have a significant advantage.

And if the race occurs at night, that special night vision "We've gone red" dashboard in the TA should be another significant advantage to the WS6 driver... these have to add up to a micron or two in winnings...

They are the same damn car. If the WS6 makes more HP from the ram air, then it has more frontal area, and more drag from all the fake swoops and scoops (not to mention the real ones) to counteract the advantage.

oh, and an 03 cobra will smoke them both

Talking

well, I think the Pontiac would lose at night considering the lights pop up and make for terrible air resistance. YUP, hands down, SS wins.

Hmm, I thought the Cobra would get beat by an SS? Mabey I am thinking of the 1999 Cobra? Would a 2002 SS get beat bad by a 2002 Cobra, or just a little?

There is no 2002 Cobra.

An 01 Cobra (non-supercharged DOHC 4.6) will get edged out by an LS1, but it's a pretty good race. An 03 Cobra (blown DOHC 4.6) will win.

So all you have to worry about is a 2003 and 2004 Cobra...the new 04's with the Mystic paint look bad *** I must say!

Most SSs are slower then WS6s because there were more black SSs made and black is super heavy.

[sigh]...you can't say that, ok?

That's like a ricer saying to you: "Well, just give me 3.5 more liters and 4 more cylinders, then we'll see who wins."

*Oh and for all that care, SPYK is still around, posting more bs...he's under the name wsman6, check the kill forum.

Its amazing that you can stir the pot so easily here. I just figured I might as well give this pointless thread two cars with a difference to compare, instead of comparing two cars assembled at the same plant , using the same engineering, and the same components.

How is this thread Ls1 tech anyhow? Im leanin towards lounge level thread here...
